Three Card Poker History
Three Card Poker is a version of Poker created by Derek Webb in 1994. The game has gained in popularity over the past few years and can now be found on the floors of most Casinos, including Indian Casinos and local card clubs. In 1999, the rights to the game were acquired by Shuffle Master (Now Bally Gaming, Inc). Initially, Vegas and Reno declined to use the game, so it was first introduced in Mississippi. In fact, the United Kingdom had to change their gaming laws in 2002 so that the game could be played there.
One reason for the rapid growth of Three Card Poker is the simplicity of the game. Each player is dealt only three cards as the name suggests. The player only plays his/her hand against the dealer and not the other players. There is a bonus, which increases in value depending on the ranking of the hand should the player qualify. There is even a prop bet where the dealer’s and player’s cards are combined for a chance at a six-card bonus. Both the casinos and the players enjoy the quick speed at which this game is played. And of course, the house enjoys a slight advantage as they do in every game.
Let It Ride Poker History
One of the many Poker variations that has evolved and has garnered strong following is Let It Ride Poker. The game, which is based on the popular card game, was developed by John Breeding of Shuffle Master Gaming Company. The purpose was to increase the sales of their automatic shuffling machines to land-based casinos. It first debuted in Reno, Nevada in 1993. This is a very simple game with five cards, three of which are dealt to the player. After deciding if you want to leave your bets on the table, the dealer will then turn over one of the two community cards. At this point, you can decide again if you want to leave your bet or withdraw it. The last card is then turned over, exposing the five cards of your hand. You need at least one pair of 10s or better to win. The better your hand, the higher the payout.
