A Brief Intro to Blackjack
Blackjack is the second-most popular table game found in casinos after poker. The main objective of the game is to have a total hand value higher than the dealer’s without going over 21.
The dealer can use either a single 52-card deck or several decks to deal from, and each card’s number represents its point value (except for face cards and aces). All face cards count as 10 and aces can be counted as either 1 or 11.
Each player is dealt two cards face up, and the dealer is dealt two cards with only one facing up. Players then proceed to request, or “hit,” additional cards to get as close to 21 without going over. Once all players have finished requesting cards, the dealer proceeds to draw additional cards as well. The winner has the highest hand value up to 21 without going over, or “busting.”
